Tickets are now on sale for "An Evening with Michael Rooker," scheduled for Friday, March 2 at 7pm in the Performance Center of the GUC at the University of North Alabama. Tickets are $10.00 and available at The Wine Seller, 324 North Court Street, Florence, and the Follett UNA Bookstore. Fan favorite and Jasper native Michael Rooker 's work in film includes such notable titles as "Slither," "The Replacement Killers," "Days of Thunder," and the highly acclaimed "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer." Rooker is widely known for his many roles in television, most recently as the tough redneck Merle Dixon in AMC's "The Walking Dead." Rooker is also the voice of multiple video game characters and is a playable character in "Call of Duty: Black Ops." Tickets for the 15th Annual George Lindsey UNA Film Festival Awards Show, schedule for Saturday, March 3, at 7pm, UNA East Campus, are also on sale for $10.00 each at the same ticket locations. Those wishing to buy tickets for both "An Evening with Michael Rooker" and the Lindsey Film Festival Awards Show can purchase tickets for both events for $15.00. The George Lindsey UNA Film Festival is one of the few film festivals hosted by a university. The event was founded in 1998 in part by UNA alumnus and celebrated actor and entertainer George Lindsey. Lindsey's own film career has included several important roles, including the character Goober Pyle on "The Andy Griffith Show."
